We have one server that is connected via T1 that takes for ever to backup. We have suspended the full saves on this client to conserve bandwidth throughout the day. This backup takes up to 19+ hours to complete. We have to find a solution for this client that is done in less time.
-
Some of our options are:
- move this client to using consolidation rather than actually doing full backups
- place a storage node or storage node + server close to the client.
- place a tape drive close to the client.
- increase link capacity (our of our scope)
Our first preparations for Oracle 11g were installed today. System settings I changed:
sysctl -w net.core.rmem_default=4194304
sysctl -w net.core.rmem_max=4194304
installed:
unixODBC-devel-2.2.11
elfutils-libelf-devel-0.97.1
