As of lately we have a large number of storage units (filers) here in our IT shop. We have two main models that are currently being used and we have become very familiar with how they operate and run. However, I find that running multiple filers for the same purpose is a bit odd.
Now being the person who tracks the trends and issues with these said devices I like having more stuff to graph etc.. So an interesting query came out of a conversation with my brother-in-law the other day.
Collect the raw vs. used space that these units have.
So for my filer monitor gathering I will be adding a raw-used value as a percent of overall raw space available in our environment. More to come later on this.
