Society for Ethnomusicology 		2008 Local Arrangements information

The 2008 Annual meeting of the Niagara Chapter of the Society for Ethnomusicology will be hosted by the Department of Music, York University Toronto, Ontario, on March 28-30, 2008.

The Conference will be held at the Accolade East Building  at York University (no. 92 on the York map).  Lodging is available at the Executive Learning Centre (no. 94 on the map). You can go to the website and request an availability search for the evening(s) you are there.

For those of you coming from out of town, there are three economy hotels (listed below) near York University. They are all within a single block and approximately 3.75 km (2.25 mi) west of the York Campus. For a map of the York campus, please visit:

For those students coming from out of town who may find the costs prohibitive, we currently have a call out to the York Music graduate student listserv to see who among them is able to billet one of two people to offset the cost. More news on this will follow. Please contact Michael Marcuzzi (Marcuzzi@yorku.ca) if you would like to be considered for billeting.
 
A variety of food services are available on campus and within walking distance of the Accolade East Building. No need to worry about travel off campus to get lunch or dinner. Parking is available on campus in the Student Services Parking Garage (no. 84 on your map). Saturday will be a daily maximum of $14.00 CAD; Sunday should be no more than $7.00 CAD.
