2012 Call for Presentations

The Niagara Chapter of the
Society for Ethnomusicology invites proposals for its annual meeting to be held
on Friday and Saturday, March 23-24,
2012 at the University of
Toronto in the great city of Toronto, ON, Canada.
Students and scholars from
all branches of music scholarship and related disciplines are encouraged to
participate. SEM-Niagara requires no
membership dues, and the registration fee is always modest.

Babiracki at cmbabira@syr.edu by FEBRUARY 1, 2012 using the subject SEM Niagara 2012.
For papers (20 minutes) and panel discussions,
send a 250-word abstract,
including title, format, and
technical needs. On a separate page,
include the
name(s) of presenter(s),
their institutional affiliations (if any), and contact
information.
For workshops, films and videos, demonstrations,
and performances, send a
250-word description, including the amount of time
required and technical needs.
On a separate page, list the name(s) of
participant(s), institutional affiliations (if
any), and contact
information.
The chapter strongly encourages proposals from
students. The T. Temple Tuttle
Prize is awarded for the best student paper presented
at the meeting.
Wondering if you are in the
Niagara Chapter? We typically include
ethnomusicologists from Ontario, Western and Central New York, Western
Pennsylvania, and Eastern Ohio, but there are no geographic restrictions on participation!
