Foreign Accented Speech and its Effects on Intelligibility

The purpose of the study is to investigate the effects of foreign accent on intelligibility in two different contexts- second and foreign language context in which non-native speakers learn the language to communicative with native speakers (Derwing & Munro M, 1997) and international context in which non-native speakers of various L1 background learn the language to communicate with each other (Jenkins, 2004).
