Current Research Interests
My main areas of research are in Late Antiquity, ancient Greece and Roman, early Medieval, and Byzantine history. I also have an interest in Digital History, Maritime and Economic history.
I am currently involved with the Pyla-Koutsopetria Archaeological Project which is an archaeological survey of the Pyla region to the northeast of Larnaka, Cyprus. The project began in 2003 and is expected to continue through 2015. While the project began as a simple pedestrian survey, it has expanded into many different areas of investigation (excavation, resistivity, ground-penetrating radar, and aerial photography) and various areas of publicizing our results (Second Life, blogging, documentaries, and publications).
In addition, I am involved in studying the Roman ceramics from the Athienou Archaeological Project and the Princeton Excavations at Polis.
I have listed some good starting points for research in ancient history.
