English 436 W - Major American Authors

MWF 2:15-3:15

"W" Course - Satisifes Liberal Studies Requirement
Prerequisites Waived with Instructor Permission

What's that title again?  Not "main-"  but other-stream—this course involves the study of contemporary American postmodern writers who explore chance, alienation, performance, the primitive, subjectivity, cultural work, the ordinary, and the prison house of language in poetry and cross-genre texts. Interested in art, new media, performance, theory? You can choose alternative project options (experimental prose, web-design, digital media, performance, etc.) Interested in living writers?   This course links with the OFFPage series, so you can expect to meet and attend the performance of one or more writers coming to IUP this spring.
