Electronic Research ENGL 4389
UTPB-Research | Subscription library databases are most useful for scholarly research: http://www.utpb.edu/library/alphabetical_list.html.
Netlibrary (find link at the bottom of the database page) gives access to full-text books, including some of relevance to this course. Off-campus access requires direct dial-up or proxy service. Some links may be unreliable except on site. For more information see www.utpb.edu/library/remote.html

Most of your best resources will be located through subscription databases. The following are important indexes to academic journals which often include links to full-text articles: MLA/Firstsearch (authoritative bibliography; requires password from UTPB Library); JSTOR (full-text of back issues to select journals); Project Muse (full-text of select journals like Postmodern Culture); GaleNet (full-text of most Dictionary of Literary Biography articles, a great place to begin research; erratic service but useful when it works; move to a different computer area if it fails in the library); and LION (limited criticism, but Individual Literature Collections give access to complete poetry volumes of Creeley, Olson, Howe et al). |
