MCL Lab Orientation Our goal
today is to become familiar with two class tools, a blog and WebCT. You'll
need to work within your group to setup the blog. Individually you'll check
out WebCT and take a sample quiz (it won't be for a grade, just a practice
run). |
Blog
Setup a group blog and enroll
members
- Find your group and coursename

- Have one student visit
blogger.com,
create an account and use the group name (ex. IUP121S06I) to create a
group blog.
- Jointly decide on the template
etc.
- Then enroll members by sending
email invites -- using the settings menu.
Individual students - enroll and
publish a test post.
- All members should access
their imail accounts, accept the invite, create usernames and post a
test post to the group blog.
- If your group's blog is
created and you have succeeded in posting, you'll see your post by
clicking through the index page for the class:10:30 |

Don't forget your user and
password. This is not an IUP service but a public website. I cannot restore
a password for you. |

Web CT
This is a password protected
space for IUP students enrolled in the class. Our main use will be for
accessing quizzes, though we may also find other uses.
Take a sample quiz
- Login to
WebCT . (Your
username is listed above10:30 |
2:15; if you have never logged on before, your password will be the
same as your username. Reset it to something you can remember.
- After logging on, enter the
ENGL 121 site and look for the quiz icon. Take a sample quiz. (Don't
forget to save answers)
